Book Signing at the Chicago Carifete

Welcome to the Chicago Carifete!

What an incredible experience it was at my book signing at the Chicago Carifete, and what a success! I met with so many wonderful people and we all had a great time! My Tony bologna and I really enjoyed all of the festivities and the parade was fantastic! I was still shakin it up like those beautiful women wearing their feathered crowns. They reminded me of a scene from the movie Coming To America when they did that African dance! Oh I can’t tell you what an experience it was for us. I really tried to take as many pics as I could but please keep in mind I was so very busy and it was hard to get away. I want to thank Ms Sherilee for inviting me to be there as the featured author, dear-heart I wrap my arms around you and am ever so grateful for your kindness!

For those of you that couldn’t make it out hopefully I will get a chance to see you at my next signing coming up in October.

In September date TBD, I have been invited to speak on WVON talk radio with Ms Dorothy Tillman. I have also been invited to speak with some of our young adults of the future in Evergreen Park and another book signing in October at Azizi Books in Matteson, Illinois. Can you tell I’m a busy Author?

Thanks again to everyone who came out to show their support. I have attached some of the pics below.

One more thing… be sure and check out my website www.denatyson.com Due to the popularity of my novels I now have
T-shirts, Tote bags, and yes more of the dolls from my Kuckabug Collecton available to purchase so please be sure and check out my Literary Works Shop Online tab on my website. You asked for these things and I’ve heard you so stop on by and help a sistah out! (…hahahah)

Hello everyone… …

This is the week to the final countdown for my appearance at The Chicago Black Womens Expo starting this Friday August 1st thru August 3rd at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. Go to www.theblackwomensexpo.com to learn more about the event. I am so very excited and am looking forward to seeing you there!

Here’s what you can expect…

To meet me in all my greatness, of course! : ) and My Tony bologna! I will be selling and signing copies of the much anticipated novel “Xceptance” The raw version of the story is this… It’s about an illegitimate child (Augie), who was blamed for everything bad happening to everyone else around her, and the mother who chose to leave her other children for a better life, due to her own infidelity. Augie struggled to fit in, to be accepted finding herself facing the world alone at 14 with no place to go and no one to turn to. Now you will have to follow along and see how it all unfolds. What becomes of her and her life, and also her sisters because of the deep rooted scars. Y’all this one right here is a mess! Be sure and hide the knives ‘cuz you goan wanna cut somebody! …hahahah ( I say that with much love )

Be sure and come on out to the Expo this weekend and holla at-cha gurl alright…?

See you there!

My 1st Book Signing!

My 1st book signing

On June 7th I was invited to attend as a guest Author at the 1st Annual Chicago Caribbean Jerkfest! I made the announcement speech welcoming everyone to enjoy the fun and festivities. This is a replay of my speech…

Hello… I want to welcome everyone to the 1st Annual Chicago Caribbean Jerkfest, and thank Sherilee and the organization for inviting me to come out and be apart of this celebration. My name is Dena Tyson and I’m the Author of Give Me the Strength a truly inspiring story about taking back control of your life. You see a year ago today my husband was behind the wheel in the middle of rush hour traffic and suffered a stroke, and he lost everything on his right side, but I’m here to tell you that God is good and today he is a living breathing, walking talking miracle and he inspired that story. ( …oh my goodness you should have heard the crowd!!!) I want to welcome everyone to stop by my booth and pick up a copy and I would love to be able to sign it for you as well. Please enjoy the fest, and thanks again for coming out!!

I cannot tell you how proud I was to make it through my first appearance/speech because I was just a nervous wreck! My husband (I call him Tony Bologna) he was proud of me too! It was so sticky hot out and everyone that came by wanted to hug and touch us and they didn’t seem to mind my sticky back! (I had on a halter top but like I said it was hot and everyone was sticky!) That was a great day and we met with so many wonderful people that took their time at our booth and shared their stories as well. There was no rushing and everyone patiently waited because they too had a story they wanted to share with us. Such great people and an even greater experience. I am looking forward to my next book signing! I took some pic’s not a lot because I was so excited and kept being pulled away. I will try and get more pics at the next event.

Thanks everyone and enjoy the pics!
